Mr. Michael K. Losey C.P.M., Lean Sensei is an innovative and entrepreneurial supply chain manager with over 20 years of experience. Mike has extensive specialized knowledge of supplier development, supplier quality principles, including the APQP process (PPAP,PFMEA,DFMEA), procurement management and lean methodology. He is a skilled negotiator with a proven track record in successfully securing major contracts exceeding $100MM in spend. He prides himself on being a collaborative communicator continually focusing on building relationships and promoting synergy across business lines.
Mr. Losey was most recently Director of Projects, Outsourced Operations, for Smith & Nephew, a $4.5B company specializing in Orthopedic implants and Wound Management. Smith & Nephew was Mr. Losey’s second position within Medical Devices as he began his Medical Device career with Conmed Linvatec in Largo, Florida.
Prior to his experience in medical devices, Mike held senior level Procurement positions within industries such as Defense/Space (Honeywell), Electronics (Thomas and Betts) and Automotive (BMW). Mr. Losey has direct experience in driving positive change in organizations thru the employment of Lean tools. He has developed and led high level kaizen events where the outcome was significantly leaner processes and cost savings. Mr. Losey is certified in the areas of Six Sigma and Lean by institutions such as Honeywell Defense and Space and Villanova University.
